Round-table meetings

Within the scope of the Design Thinking Skills (Professional Development of Teachers to Increase Students’ Design-Focused Thinking Skills and Academic Achievement) Project, an online focus group meeting was held on October 20, 2023, with teachers who were trained within the scope of the Istanbul Provincial Directorate of National Education Design Skills Workshops. At the meeting, ideas were exchanged with teachers on how design-oriented thinking can be encouraged in schools, its integration into the curriculum, its use in in-service training and reducing early school leaving. It is planned that the teachers’ suggestions will be used in the “Recommendation Paper for Design Thinking Approach” which is being developed within the scope of the project, and in the next stage, the project process will be evaluated by holding a project management meeting in Istanbul.
The main goal of the Design Thinking Skills (Professional Development of Teachers to Promote Design Thinking Skills and Academic Success of Students Project) (2020-1-TR01-KA201-094174) is to provide design-oriented training to teachers through “Design-Focused Thinking Training Modules” and “Online Learning Platform”. The aim is to increase academic success and reduce early school leaving by providing thinking skills training. The project is supported by the European Commission through the Turkish National Agency.
